This fiber is inserted into the damaged vein, and a laser light is then emitted through the fiber. Venefit Procedure (formerly know as VNUS closure)

VNUS FAST Closure (Venefit Procedure) uses a 7 cm coil to deliver radiofrequency energy to a 7 cm segment of vein. The great saphenous vein can be ablated with theVNUS Closure FAST (Venefit Procedure) catheter to treat saphenofemoral venous reflux disease. Compression Stockings

Bioflavanoids

A number of studies have shown that flavonoids that come from rutin can relieve swelling, aching and pain from varicose veins. Rutin is found in fruits and fruit rinds (especially citrus fruits), buckwheat and asparagus. Additionally, oligomeric proanthocyandin complexes (OPCs) may decrease vein leakage and swelling in the legs.
